Jeuno

Jeuno A - 3.2.3 Culture Clothing and Decoration: Cotton dominates the material used in their clothing. Leather being second. When available, silks are prized and sought out. There is no predominant color. Lace as an accent at the edges of clothing is quite popular. Hose with cinched short-pants and shoes for males and dresses of at least knee length or longer for females. Hoop skirts, if one can afford them! Hats aren’t all that common among adults, though hair pins and accessories are common among adult females. Multiple layers are the standard: underclothes, laces, vests for both males and females and finally their outer clothing. Capes of varying lengths are a standard. It is not considered pretentious to wear jewelry if it enhances and reflects one’s status within Jeunoan society. Fears and Inabilities: The loss of Social Standing and Face is often seen as more crippling and fearsome than Death! Lifestyle: “The Game” permeates all levels and aspects of Jeunoaan society. This teaches a high level of civility and social responsibility along with the consequences of both success and failure. Diplomacy and a gilded tongue are highly regarded. “The Game” is a dance of words with everyone and everything one encounters. Duels are common as it is easy to overstep the understood rules of “The Game”. Everyone and everything has a place and function in society. Marriage Pattern: Males are dominant and females and offspring take the males name. Generally monogamous, although dalliances are common amongst both males and females. Religion: Devotion to Altana is supported by Jeuno, though not enforced. Personal devotions and public services both occur. Other Factors Demeanor:Courtesy to Equals and those below your station. Respect to those above. “The Game” is very important as it can promote or demote the practitioner in social status in Jeuno. Most Jeunoans are cool, courteous, and polite until they know your social value. Then “The Game” begins! Languages: hume 8/0. All languages available.
