Bastok A - 3.2.2 Culture Clothing and Decoration: All clothing materials from leather to wool, cotton and linen. Silk is rare. Machine or handmade. Various forms of hats being common. Berets being in favor and most common. Breeches of various lengths for men. Pantaloons and hose within dresses and layered skirts for females. Shoes are common though boots from ankle to knee length are common. Both made of various materials. Buttons, buckles, pins, belts and sashes are popular fashion accessories and fasteners. Often decorative. Fears and Inabilities: Nothing special. Tend to not rely upon magic as strongly as other nations. Lifestyle: Industry, Nationality, Craftsmanship. A very lightly religious culture. Citizenship and it’s rewards belong to those with the heart to strive for it! Those who are more passive, while not quite second class citizens, must simply make do with the status quo. A Republic with Aldermen for each district. Males are typically more outgoing and brusque and are often seen in traditional masculine male efforts and occupations. Females also follow along with traditional female roles. Children work as early as possible to help the household when not in schooling or apprenticeship. Outside one’s social circle, tend toward aloof or stoicism. Proper and cold. Distant. Languages: Hume, Galkan, Elvaan, Gobin, Quadav. Prejudices: San D’Orian Nationals and Elvaan in general due to a long standing territorial dispute with San D’Oria. Quadav, as they tend to raid within Bastoks controlled territory. Galkans are seen as refugees and often treated as second-class citizens by most of the Bastokans. Professions: All allowed. Spell-casters being less common.
