Revel Weed

The revel weed is a relatively rare plant that seems to grow in the most accursed places, revelling in the death and misery that reside there. It has some medicinal properties but the stigma dictates that it should be avoided, despite it being harmless.

Ecology and Habitats

The weed primarily grows in decrepit environments. Its exact nature is unknown but it clearly prefers lands saturated with evil.

Uses, Products & Exploitation

The roots of the weed often become saturated with the lingering dark magic from where they're found. This gives them a use as an antidote against afflictions caused by dark magics as the roots can sort of absorb it. Despite this, the process is slow and may not always work depending on the weed used or the affliction, though it is still relied upon as a go-to option.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Due to its nature of growing near accursed areas, it is found throughout much of the Forbidden Lands and around Asceroth but little elsewhere.

Symbiotic and Parasitic organisms

The weed can latch itself onto other nearby plant and sap nutrients. This isn't necessary for it to grow or survive but it often means that the space around a large revel weed would be completely dead.

Body Tint, Colouring and Marking

The weed's leaves have serrated edges and are mostly black but have a very vibrant green tip. This tip gave the idea that the weed (or, at least the leaves) is poisonous and thus was avoided for decades before more research was conducted, but the leaves are perfectly fine to ingest. Though, they don't taste nice.
