Life
Life is made of two constituent parts. The body, and the soul. When these two bind together, life is formed, though not all bodies and souls can bind successfully. Free-floating souls can often be rejected from bodies that they bind to, but if the soul forces itself to bind despite this rejection, they must pay a terrible price, often observed as intense emotional or physical pain. Not all life is created equally. Every soul is made differently, some more powerful than others on the great ladder of life, but a powerful soul may not mean a powerful individual. The body and soul can forever war with each other or forever last in peace. Lifeforms that have achieved symbiosis of the body and soul are able to unlock the secrets of what lies behind what they call life, whilst those that war often only find damnation. True power of the individual is the ability to understand the symbiosis or war inside them and use it to find their place in the natural flow. Only then will they find the power that lies within.
Symbiosis leads to a lifeform whose body can draw on the power of its soul as needed. An example of this is humanity. Power flows from the soul to the body then from the body to the soul. The constant flow allows for existence without consequence, by creating a system of equilibrium inside them, they allow for both body and soul to aid in their survival and live an exhaustive lifetime.
Yet war between the body and soul often leads to a lifetime of misery and anguish.
When the soul overpowers the body, the body is nothing more than a vessel, its strengths lay unfound and tortured by the soul that uses it. Beings like these are known as Undead, commonly created by a soul that is not satisfied by its fate and is unable to leave its life behind until all its desires are fulfilled. The rejection between body and soul leads to the body’s deterioration and unsustainability, or the soul’s metaphysical suffering.
When the body dominates the soul, beings like the Diaboli are formed, where the body exhausts the soul, drawing on its mass power until the soul is drained of all its former prowess and so it fades and dies. Bodies that do this will keep on abusing the power of the soul until it doesn’t have any more souls to support itself and thus seals its own terrible fate.
All life is terminated by death, either death of the body or death of the soul. Death of the body occurs either when the body has lived as long as it can and is no longer strong enough to support its soul. Or when the body has become severely damaged and the soul is no longer able to maintain its bind. In this case, what happens to the soul after death is situational, either it is satisfied by its life, and finds peace, ever dwelling in its memories or the soul rages against the curtain of death and finds a new body to carry out its desires, creating an undead lifeform. Death of the soul is a more tragic fate. Though rare in symbiotic lifeforms, death of the soul can occur when it is destroyed by its body or by exhausting itself trying to sustain a body, either way, this eliminates the soul from the grand picture of life completely. If this happens, no trace of the soul can ever be found or recovered in the future, its very existence is lost to the natural flow.
Localization
The law applies throughout all of Adremesis, though due to the chaotic nature of the Void, the conditions for life to be created are much more lenient and thus life can be created in more twisted variations of the law For example, Krel'Outama lacks a soul and the Almighty lacks a body, and is instead an amalgam of souls.
