Bicarus' Teachings

Knowledge becomes power only when you put it to good use.
— Bicarus

Scholarly Insight. Choose two of the following skills: Arcana, History, Insight, Investigation, Medicine, or Religion. You gain proficiency in the chosen skills, reflecting your growing grasp of esoteric lore inspired by Bicarus' teachings.

Confounding Rant. Once per day, as an action, you can unleash a rant filled with random tidbits, obscure facts, and wild stories. This targets one creature within 120 feet that can both hear and understand you. The target must make a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failure, they are confused (as per the Confusion spell) until the end of your next turn, overwhelmed by the sheer oddity and implications of your words. This ability is language-dependent.

Masterful Understanding. You gain expertise in one of the skills you obtained earlier, doubling your proficiency bonus for checks made with it.

Insightful Observation. If you spend at least 1 minute observing or interacting with another creature outside of combat, you can analyze their capabilities compared to your own. The DM tells you if the creature is your equal, superior, or inferior in regard to two of the following characteristics of your choice:

  • Intelligence score
  • Wisdom score
  • Charisma score
  • Armor Class
  • Current hit points
  • Total class levels (if any)
