Dragonborn
Born of the distant blood of dragons, dragonborn are a colorful and varied race. Although called dragonborn, they are more similar to lizard men -- although one might find themselves at the wrong end of a sword if they were caught saying that of a cyrnean dragonborn. Their typical personalities and physical features are heavily influenced by the type of dragon whose blood runs in their veins.
Physical Description
Dragonborn are scaled creatures, their head a snout and have broad, muscular tails. Most if not all dragonborn are capable of some sort of breath attack, whether it be a swathe of fire, or a cloud of noxious gas. The color of the scales, and the type of breath attack depend entirely on the dragonborn’s lineage. For example, one descended from a red dragon would have red scales and breathe a cone of fire.
Typically of a broader and taller build than humans, they strike quite an imposing figure. On average they stand at 7-8 feet tall. Unlike most other races, dragonborn do not die of old age. There are tales of still living Cyrnean elders that experienced the Cataclysm first hand. Unfortunately, it is rare to see a dragonborn live past a few hundred years due to the commonality of violence in Cyrne.
Personalities
Dragonborn are known for violence and avarice. The term ‘dragon eyed’ used to refer to greedy people was coined as a slight against dragonborn originally. Dragonborn often have little regard for traditional morality due to the utilitarian pragmatism that arose in cyrnean culture to survive the harshness of their land and rulers. They feel an immense sense of pride for their flights, their culture, their race and heritage, and their achievements. There is a prevailing mindset in cyrne: power is authority. If one has the power to take, or command, or destroy, they have the authority to do so.
In the World
Dragonborn can be found all around the world is reasonable numbers. Cyrne however, is almost completely made up of dragonborn. Few people feel the need to travel to the Cyrne and Cyrneans are too preoccupied on their internal power struggles to be invested in the happenings of other nations, leading to a monoethnic culture lacking in diversity.
