The Ambush of Taltion
The Conflict
Prelude
A Section from Taltion's Diary: "I felt the whispering of the trees, urging me to run before it was too late! They were right. Moments afterward, I was surrounded by soldiers of the Chrome, in their sickly venom-green armor. Among them were some short, menacing fellows, wearing red and white masks- much like the theatres of old. Within a few seconds, they had me pinned to the ground, but alas, my sword did not depart. I killed a few of the odd folks, before the soldiers of the Chrome realized I was not one to be reckoned with! The suckers! I cast what I knew of an aether spell, but I could not summon the magic. I sliced my way through the army and sped off, hiding here and there, cutting off the slackers. After a couple hours, I got lazy and was spotted. Before I lost hope and was surrounded, I felt a welling sensation. Before I knew what I had done, I cast some new spell, scorching the very skin beneath the armor of my enemies. Two score of them died in the blast, and I didn't feel a lick bad about it- the brutes! I managed to hack a few down while they fled in terror, but I didn't care. What is this new magic? I will tell it to the Seven on the morrow! An exciting night indeed!" - Taltion Holyfire, 6985 S.M.
