The Sisterhood of Holyfire

Protectors of the Free World

Written by Asa Jacobson

SUMMARY
A religious organization concerned in training the next 'Civil Mages', who's job is to protect the land from the demons of old. The Sisterhood of Holyfire accepts orphans who have been thrown aside and teaches them in all arts of magic, which they must use to protect the land. The Kingdom of (good guys) gave the sisterhood a plot of land opposite Maplestall, the capital.
Although key in protecting the livelihood of the known world, the Holyfire's are little known and little respected. Commonly referred to as 'poppycock' and 'that nonsense', many people living in (good guy place) simply ignore the impact the Sisterhood has on the kingdom. Fortunately, for now, the King in Maplestall still looks out for them, expanding their territory for training and defensive buildings.
The Mages of Holyfire have never gone to war as a group against a mortal kingdom, but it is commonly thought that their 'pilgrimages' are an excuse to fight in the deep west, whether alone or with revolutionaries there.
Only fourteen Holyfire exist in the year (7024 S.M.), training more to become Holyfire. The power given is awesome but comes with duties designated to protect the entire known world.  All Holyfire must vow to keep the pledge of Kristen Holyfire, to knock down any spawn from the dark pit (hell of it). In addition, they are required to train future mages to replace them as teachers before they may go on the pilgrimage to (lower corner island).

Public Agenda

The Organization of this Religion is to bring ultimate peace to the Aejilon Coast, and this mainly includes fighting off darkspawn from the Dark Pit. They most notable fought off the Hellestic Army for seven months, throwing the demigod into the ocean, never to return. This earned them fame and gave them their motto.

Assets

They have plenty of troops, as well as access to six of the seven known magic crystals in the land. They own the Abandoned Isle, and have a great deal of diamonds and sapphires.

Territories

The sisterhood was granted a large portion of the Abandoned Isle, but they do not want to expand territory. They only need enough to train the next Holyfire Seven.

Military

The entire sisterhood is a military organization, protecting a good portion of the south. They use many military tactics, but haven't gone to war in over 1000 years.

Foreign Relations

The Sisterhood is allies with a great number of relations, but no allyship is as good as with Agranillis. The king at the beginning of the seventh millennium gave Kristen a plot of land in the Abandoned with which to train. This made them close ally, an important defense for Agranillis.

Where Others Would Fall, We Rise Up

HISTORY OF THE MAGES  - The demonic wars of the sixth millennium (5783 - 5924 S.M.) were fought between the forces of Kristen Holyfire and her armies against the demon Lord, Sazroxen. Despite being outnumbered 13-1, Holyfire and her mages held off the dark lord for seven months, casting him into the sea and banishing him from all manal forever. The kingdoms of the west gave her land to train and prepare the outcasts of society as mages in case of the return of a demon. Eventually, over a millennium later, hundreds of mages are trained bi-decade, and seven are chosen to be dubbed 'Holyfire', after the original founder, Kristen.
