Nalaros
The Hollow Seeker; The First Voice of the Abyss; Warden of the Heart; The Eternal Warlock
Nalaros is a legendary historical figure whose name is now synonymous with ambition, hubris, and the terrifying price of forbidden knowledge. Known in ancient arcane texts as the First Warlock of the Abyss, Nalaros was once a brilliant and promising human spellcaster in the early days of the Wildlands—long before formal magical institutions and laws restrained the study of dark magic.
He is remembered for forging the first and most devastating pact with the unknowable force that dwells at the heart of the Abyss, forever binding his soul to the living artifact known as the Heart of the Abyss

Personal history
Born to a forgotten northern kingdom—long since erased from maps and memory—Nalaros displayed an extraordinary affinity for magic from a young age. He was a prodigy in elemental sorcery, necromancy, and shadowcraft, earning the reluctant awe of scholars and mages alike. As his power grew, so too did his fascination with life, death, and the veil between.
In his youth, Nalaros was regarded as a revolutionary mind—someone who might unify disparate magical traditions and push the boundaries of mortal understanding. However, his obsession with immortality and the unknown led him to pursue paths others feared to tread.
Nalaros turned to the Frozen Maw, a yawning rift in the Icy Wastes where the cold is deeper than death, and the winds carry whispers not born of any living tongue. There, he sought communion with the Abyssal Presence—a being or force beyond time, known in fragmented accounts only as That Which Waits Below.
It was here that Nalaros performed his most infamous act: the Pact of the Heart, binding himself to the Heart of the Abyss, a gemstone-like relic that pulsed with a cold, black hunger. In exchange for power and eternal life, Nalaros surrendered his soul and autonomy, becoming a vessel for the will of the Abyss.
Some claim he vanished instantly upon the pact’s completion. Others say he walked the world as a shadow of himself, performing strange rituals and planting dark seeds of corruption in remote corners of the land.
