Military action

After a year of attrition-based fighting, the Arcanaanite invaders were finally forced back across the Riah Channel to the mainland. Before pursuing them, however, King Hecates, the son of late King Eumenides, dramatically revised the structure of the Nasirian armies.

Seeing the need for a military that could not only repel Arcanaanite attacks in the future but one that could respond with ten times as much force and anger as their foe, Hecates devoted his kingdom's resources to building entire legions under a centralized command structure, a direct antithesis to the decentralized structure of their foe's.   With the support of the engineers that had been researching ancient chimeric instruments of war at the Library of Sena, the Dominion's military incorporated war machines like trebuchets, ballistae, and siege towers into their tactics.   Two years later, with Hecates personally leading them, the new Crimson Legions began their campaign to retake the lands they once rightfully owned across the Abian Channel. The occupying Arcanaanite forces had expected a retaliation but were not prepared for the ten thousand troops that strategically made landfall on the northern capes of the mainland's lower panhandle. Hecates swept north then west as he began a systematic takeover of Tavarin, the empire's western-most province.
