The Meysam Chalice: Session 3

General Summary

After having activated the chimeric timecapsule sphere in the ruins of Pyrith and learning that the Ostia Aterni had made off with records of important information, our heroes attempt to learn what they can through means of magic. While Miri prepares his teleportation spell to safely return the party to the legion camp outside the ruins, Rüppellain uses his necromancy to communicate with the dead and Kinsara appeals to the spirits of stone and earth. Together, they learn that Pyrith was an outpost for monitoring activity across the Riah and served as a respository for knowledge attained from such pursuits. Kinsara also witnessed visions of terrible destruction and glimpsed a desperate chimera attempting to record a message on the timecapsule at a point that could only be the end of the Era of Dreams. After, she sees the Ostia Aterni members shown through the orb ransacking the ruins and stealing the original record that had been stored within the timecapsule. Meanwhile, Cayenne remains silent... looking sexy off in the corner.   Later, back at the camp, Daran thanks the party for rescuing his ensign, Ren san Ashur. The pawns of the IXth Legion are especially grateful to have their leader returned safely to them. Daran provides vouchers for each member of the party to receive a masterwork weapon from the blacksmith at Zabran Port. Further, he gifts a skycaller amulet to the party which will allow them to communicate with him or Ren telepathically three times per day, saying that if they are ever in Dominion territory and need help, to call upon them as allies.   In discussing their findings with General Ashur and his men, the party is certain that the Ostia Aterni has the knowledge they seek: something that may aid in their quest to discover the lost city of Meysam. They resolve to make their way to Arcana, the capital of the Arcanaan Empire, where the Ostia Aterni is headquartered. But to get there means traveling across the entirety of the Empire itself, a task that won't be easy with three chimeras in the party... who are all enslaved beyond the border. But before crossing that bridge, they head first to Callon, a neutral town on the ever fluxuating border between the Empire and Dominion. Perhaps there, they may be able to find safe passage through hostile lands. Ren advised that they may run into the travelers from another star: the enigmatic Tellans...

Kinsara revealed a piece of Isepox culture about how young women must undergo arduous physical and mental trials to connect with and understand the male warriors that fight to protect their tribes. After completing the final rite, which includes an exhausting course of obstacles and combatives as the pinnacle of their training, they may assume the mantle and responsibilities of leadership and ascend to the rank of matriarch. Bad ass.
