Winter's Breath Report

General Summary

The frozen lake cracked and swayed as the party stepped onto the ice approaching the perched ice covered winged creature. The seal folk described this creature as King Dazaraak  . Two bearbarians cowered before the ice king as if begging for mercy. Dazaraak pointed towards the party and commanded the bears to kill them. As the bears ran towards the party, a jagged ice wall rose up from the lake separating the party into two. With an advantage of mobility, the bears still quickly came to an end giving the dragon time to set up an ambush, when he strook, he carried Alias away from the rest of the party before coming back.   As he approached the remaining portion of the party, the air froze before the creature's maw and a light emanated from the creatures stomach. As the dragon opened its mouth wide, a blast of ice shards and cold covered the party.    As the party pushed towards the cave, the dragon broke through the ice and resurfaced only to attack the split party. The lake quickly became open rigid water testing the parties constitution. As party members came in and out of consciousness from the battle, the dragon too was taking wounds of its own.    Moving to a more aggressive approach, Severnius  and Graivis Prax were able to mount the winged beast. They were able to strike its neck without the risk of being bitten.    Both the party and Dragon nearing the brink of death, the dragon  plunged itself deep into the lake, waiting to fight another day.   The party continued into the lair of the dragon eventually finding a small area to rest. Exhausted, but on a mission, the party pushed deeper into the ice cave eventually reaching slightly warmer dirt. The dirt tunnel was lit by torch sconces. Frantic messages written in Abyssal were on the wall claiming life to be the cause of suffering. Eventually, the party entered a cavern which several undead and a Bodak await for the party as a group of necromancers start to conduct a ritual.
