Personal history
Alyssa was born into great power within Stormfell. The great Yi house ruled over much of Stormfell, making Thunder's Landing their home. They were treated like kings and queens. But Alyssa was never the royalty type. She sought adventure and fame. So at the age of 106 she ran away. She joined the Giant's Wonder guild and began adventuring there. While there she met a man by the name of Tarkosh. He was kind and sweet, she made him laugh and he told such great stories. They adventured all over Paradise together. Eventually they fell in love. They decided to settle down together, they had a child. A child they named Sima. But their time together was short in the year 0 the great rebellion took place. The war tore through their quaint home in the Capital Plains. Great balls of fire rained on top of them as the opposing forces collided together. In order to protect the ones he loves more than anything Tarkosh revealed his true form, that of a great gold dragon. He fought off the armies and got them to safety. But he could no longer stay, if the new regime found him they would execute him and to get to him they would go through what he loves. He left.
Alyssa returned home only to find her family in ruins and the Stormfell desolated. She began to work in the fields in the hope that she might be able to feed her daughter. She did this for days before a package arrived. Within it was a bundle of jewels. Together they were worth more than a kingdom. A gift from Tarkosh, delivered by the soon to be saviour of the Stormfell: Tamamo. Soon after the packages arrival the land started to sprout again, and with it Thunder's Landing began to boom. Alyssa was able to help with the city a lot becoming one of the great lords. She raised Sima alone but they were fine, they had each other.
One day Tarkosh turned up at Alyssa's door. He told her he was sorry. But he couldn't take it anymore, he needed to be in his daughters life. Alyssa welcomed him home with open arms and they attempted to be a family. Sima was unreceptive at first, Tarkosh tried his hardest but she struggled to accept him. After a few years her walls began to break down and they truly became a family. Soon the happy news came, Alyssa was pregnant. With a boy. They couldn't be happier. They spent the next 9 months preparing, nothing could go wrong. They were going to be an even bigger family.
That is until the day of the birth. The child had pink hair, sharp handsome features with a soft face. They were neither male nor female. At first Alyssa was confused but Tarkosh was horrified. He understood what was happening. This child was Astolfo, the great hero reborn. He knew something was coming. At once he left to inform everyone: Merlin, Ekris, Shuten, Astrid, Kartive, Enkidu, Kiyoshi, Akkadia, Raikou, Sirisu Abzu and the elemental preservers. When he returned home he was met with terrible news. The birth had made Alyssa's system very weak. She had contracted an incurable disease. She had less than 6 months.
Tarkosh knew this was the result of birthing something as powerful as the hero. He wanted to hate his son, but he couldn't. He loved him so. Tarkosh begged Merlin, Ekris, Akkadia and Kartive for a solution but none had one. In Alyssa's last days Tarkosh, Astolfo and Sima all waited with her. They played games and sang. And when it came time Alyssa said she loved them all. She looked at Astolfo and said "Do not blame yourself for this. This was not your fault. I'm so sorry... I love you... I'm sorry I can't be with you... but daddy will take care of you... I'm sorry... I love you, my dear Astolfo". Just before she died a miracle happened. Astolfo spoke his first words: "I love you too, mummy!". He smiled at her with the brightest smile she had ever seen. She died with a smile on her face.
The next few days were a blur for Tarkosh and Sima. They buried Alyssa shortly after. Then they came to a decision. The people started to turn on Tarkosh, the extended families blamed him for Alyssa's death. So Sima and Tarkosh agreed that Tarkosh would take Astolfo and raise him away from this.
And so he did. Tarkosh left with Astolfo. They ventured to the capital plains where Astolfo was raised in Tarkosh's home. Not knowing about the truth of his mother.
