It is theorized that the Vyssymsae are bred through an artificial process, as all the troops that have been encountered by humanity are all physically identical, each subtype fulfilling a different purpose in combat.

Vyssymsae are obviously carnivorous lifeforms, though it is unknown how exactly they eat. They are notorious for collecting raw biomass and DNA from the species they conquer.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

The creatures are all psionically sensitive on some level, though very few exhibit the abilities common in human psionics. No physical eyes, nose, or ears are visibly evident on the Vyssymsae's bodies, and it is thought that a majority of their senses stem from their psionic sensitivity.
Their senses are also augmented by the battlesuits worn by Vyssymsae troops.
