Jaeger-class Destroyer
The ultimate definition of a glass cannon, the Jaeger-class is perhaps the most heavily armed medium combat-dedicated vessel in the entirety of the TCRN. Its stealth-enabling radar absorbing, ladar-reflective hull plates effectively turn it into an ambush vessel, suited to lurk in the dark corners of a system and blaze into combat, effectively appearing as a sensor malfunction or much smaller vessel to all but optic sensors.
These new, modern destroyers use the most modern technology available to the TCRN. The traditional spinal heavy railgun is replaced with a particle accelerator cannon, and numerous gimballed light railguns are mounted to the hull. Three different arrays of torpedo tubes line the ship's hull, and this combined with a large amount of heavy missile pods, allows the Jaeger-class to effectively fire in any direction. Jaegers also carry three Hades Nuclear Missiles in dorsal launch tubes for a nuclear option.
The clustered array of seven large plasma discharge engines at the aft of the Jaeger-classes serve to propel the ship forward at almost blinding speeds for a vessel of it sizes, and the oversized maneuvering thrusters allow the Jaegers to perform breakneck maneuvers in combat that would snap any larger ship in half.
The singular ventral hangar bay of a Jaeger is small and confined compared to mainstay frigates and cruisers. Unlike most TCRN ships, Jaeger-classes do not carry fighters or bombers, but do carry either two gunships or dropships for support operations.
