The Premise
The players are pulled into the VHS world to stop Scuba-Man, a masked killer terrorizing the canals. But this isn’t just any killer: he’s a cybernetically enhanced diver with a harpoon gun, a grudge, and an army of mutant killer dogs. To make things worse, the Mayor of Amsterdam has gone power-mad, declared martial law, and deployed rocket-powered bicycles for his elite police force. Oh, and there’s a Belgian nuclear submarine lost in the canals, because why not?
The Setting: Amsterdam, 1988
- Canals: Dark, murky, and filled with hidden dangers (e.g., submerged cars, secret tunnels, and the occasional submarine).
- Vondelpark: A high-speed chase through the park at night, dodging rocket bikes, flaming windmills, and drug-fueled rave parties that erupt spontaneously.
- Landmarks: The Magere Brug (Skinny Bridge) collapses mid-chase, the Rijksmuseum becomes a battleground, and the Red Light District is… well, extra chaotic.
Player Ideas (Pick Your Hero!)
- The Speed Demon: Expert at racing through the narrow streets, building found families and driving on water.
- The Gadgeteer: Invents trash powered time machines or harpoon-deflecting umbrellas.
- The Hacker: Uses a hacked Super Nintendo to infiltrate Cyberspace and hack Nuclear Missiles!
- The Bruiser: Punches armoured tanks to death and throws bicycles like javelins.
- The Wild Card: Maybe they’re a time-traveling tourist or a disgraced canal tour guide either way, they’re unpredictable.
- The Dino Whisperer: Wait, why is there a velociraptor in Vondel park? (Because why not.)
- ...Or make up your own!
Most of this will be improvised so be ready for crazy twists and turns as you hunt for Scuba-Man!
