Calami
Calami is always chasing Nidi but rarely is able to catch her. When he does, it is said to be a long winter and a short summer. As the master of the long sleep, the worship of Calami is very different than that of other members of the Nidum. Worshipers call for his reign to be quick, for him to be weak, and for him to be gone. Though he is a gentle Nidum and understands the reason for these calls from the Beasts of Acidenlay. Knowing his dominion can bring strife and hardship, Calami strives to protect those from all harm. Sigils of Calami are found on doors to protect from unwanted visitors just as he protects from harm during the long sleep.
As an extension of the long sleep, Calami has much influence over the weather as well, and again, the protection from it. Nidi and Calami have many children, and when the warmth of Nidi meats the cold of Calami another child is born. Each of these children is the carrier of different weather. One of their more light-hearted children may bring light rain, whereas one of their quick-to-temper children may bring blistering winds. In these latter times calls to Calami are made again to protect the Beasts from Calami's child.
In appearance, Calami is neither the tallest nor the smallest of Nidum but sits in the middle in stature. He is also no fighter and is not known for his physical strength. His body is covered in deep purple almost black feathers that shimmer beautifully in the light. Some say his intelligence could rival Oolo, but he is not one to compete with the other Nidum in such ways.
