Bullywug
The Bullywug Beasts come from the southern marshlands of the Upper Jaw as well as the Depths of the XXX Jungle. It is unknown where first the Bullywugs came from, or if both tribes manifested simultaneously. These two tribes share many of the same attributes and skills. The primary difference is that those that hail from the jungles, Jungle Hoppers, are skilled in poisons and deception. Whereas those from the open areas of the swamps, Swamp Hunters, tend to be tougher-skinned and rely more on weapons when it comes to fighting. The appearance is also strikingly different. Bullywugs from the swamps tend to be larger with skin in the greens and browns, and those of the Jungle often display brightly colored hues in their skin and are slightly smaller than their swamp cousins. Nonetheless in modern society, these two groups see themselves as kin and as one people. Aligning themselves together politically and socially in various matters.
Bullywugs do tend to mix in the Villages and Cities of Acidenlay today, but most do tend to stay closer to their homes. When the unification first came to be they were ostracized for their actions as they were considered wild and a threat to a new peace. Historically Bullywugs were chaotic in nature in their fight for lands and a place in the world. Often hunting and killing others in their areas to assert dominance and gather land. Quick to swoop in and steal whenever the opportunity presented itself to raise their position with treasures or land. It is not surprising when someone calls another a bully, it is this behavior of the Bullywug they are referencing. And though they no longer act in such manners, Bullywugs who enter into politics are often just as ruthless in their dealings to gain power in influence as their ancestors once were.
Though most live simple lives there are those as stated who strive for power and enter Acidenlay politics, or use their natural skills to benefit themselves becoming Rogues for hire. Working the lands and being natural hunters provides them great skills in martial roles when battles come. They are not necessarily religious folk, and they do not have a predisposition for magic. Not that an occasional Bullywug hasn't been able to manifest arcane skill, it is simply rare. Those who do find themselves dabbling in magic often are Jungle Hoppers who use their skill in poisons to become Alchemists turning this knowledge into potions for profit.
Ability Score Increase. Your Constitution score increases by 1.
Age. Bullywugs are considered mature at age 12, and typically live to be 50-60 years old.
Alignment. Bullywugs do not care what side they are on, provided they can impress that side. They are typically Neutral Good, Neutral, or Neutral Evil.
Languages. In addition to Common, you are able to speak the tongues of Croak and Hiss. Croak is the natural tongue of Bullywugs, but the close proximity to other reptilian Beast Races you have learned Hiss as well.
Size. Bullywugs are slightly smaller and slightly heavier proportionally than other Beasts. Your size is Medium.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 25 feet. You have a swimming speed of 40 ft.
Amphibious. You can breathe both air and water.
Standing Leap. When making a high jump, you may calculate your jump as 10 plus your strength modifier rather than the base jump height. You are considered to be making a running jump even if you do not move beforehand
Bite. Your jaw is powerful and easily crushes tough insects and fruits. You gain a Bite action that deals 1d4 piercing damage.
Tongue Whip. You can use your Tongue as a natural weapon. With a range of 15 ft, you can lash out at a creature that must make a Strength saving throw or be pulled to a space within 5 ft of you. They are restrained until they break free or you release them. Additionally, with the same range, you can make a ranged weapon attack dealing 1d4 force damage on a successful attack. You are proficient with your Tongue Whip.
Swamp Hunter or Jungle Hopper. You trained with a certain kind of fighting style in the swamps, either being strong or agile. Either your Dexterity or your Strength score increases by 2.
