Kernguffing

Kernguffing is a temporary condition that is caused when Yutheatine is taken in excessive amounts. Even though it's only temporary, it can cause chaos if not carefully observed and treated. If it gets too bad, the person is known to die by the Adamnite Gold solidifying and breaking apart everything in its path, including the heart.

Transmission & Vectors

This condition is transmitted through air, mainly when an infected person coughs or sneezes. Then anybody in a two-metre radius will get infected by the same condition.

Causes

As previously said, the condition is caused by excess dosages of Yutheatine, a metallic compound made of Adamnite Gold and Asil Jade. Since Yutheatine gives temporary invincibility it injects some of its power into your blood. Excess remains left in the blood can lead to blockage or worse, an explosion of body organs.

Symptoms

Some of the symptoms are stiffness, the body is warmer than room temperature, and boils on the limbs. Some complications include melting of certain body parts and boiling body temperature.

Treatment

The treatment is very expensive, because of the complexity involved in it. But this is only needed when the condition reaches the critical stage. Mostly it recedes all by itself after a few waves of fevers and common colds, but once it reaches the critical stage almost no type of treatment can save the person. The treatment starts by removing infected blood and pumping new blood at the same time. This step has to be done very carefully. Then they tackle the organs, which is a little harder since not all the organs can be replaced. A precise cut is made in the skin at the exact infected spot. Then they heat the body so the metal can move around more freely, and then suck up all the Yutheatine remains using syringes. Nothing can be done if the compound solidifies, except for hoping that the patient will live.

Sequela

There arent many pathological conditions resulting from kernguffing, unless it is serious. People are reported to have severe pains in infected organs and also reported the melting of certain body parts during fevers. Other kinds of bacteria are more likely to kill the person after he gets affected with kernguffing since the condition really takes a toll on the immune system.

Affected Groups

People who often go out to war such as military troops, leaders and other reinforcements get affected the most by this disease since Yutheatine is used a lot on the battlefield. In this group, people who are old or have a weak immune system will likely suffer more from the disease than others.

Prevention

People can prevent themselves from getting the condition by drinking less than the specific amount of Yutheatine i.e not more than 50 ml per year and if that is not enough they have to get a monthly clean up of all the organs, especially the heart.

History

Kernguffing was first experienced by Yuthean, the scientist who discovered it. He often had to drink his solution over and over again to perfect it, leading to severe conditions. He died, but not before he perfected it enough. Since he was a famous scientist, they did a lot of research for his cause of death. Then, a microbiologist stepped forward and found remains of Adamnite Gold in his veins. He found Kernguffing after a brief period of research. The first recorded case was that of a patient called Gary, who was a military leader who wanted permanent invincibility, so he drank a whole cup of Yutheatine. Instead, he died in the hospital before he could even get treated. After him, there was an epidemic in some of the hospitals, with infected people coughing everywhere and healthy people touching them and getting the disease themself. After a lockdown however, everything got sorted out. The first patient who survived was a patient named Kerngruff, an old man with an impeccable immune system. After him, lot more people started living after the disease. The world had evolved to survive the condition.
