Mechanics & Inner Workings
When consumed, the user gains temporary hit points equal to 1/4 of any damage they've taken since their last short or long rest. These hit points last for 1d4 hours but the effect can be extended if another dose is taken in the last hour. Once these hit points have been used up the user cannot benefit from this effect again until they have taken a long rest.
If more than 4 doses are taken in one day the user must make a constitution saving throw of DC 14 (+2 for each subsequent dose). On a success the user gains the regular effects of the solution. On a failure they gain the benefit but take -2 to constitution saving throws for the next 1d4 hours. If they take another dose after this and fail the save again the -2 becomes -4 and so on. If the save is failed by 10 or more the user gains 1d4 levels of exhaustion every hour for 1d4 hours.
Do not give to horses, livestock, cats or dogs. This includes races such as tabaxi and centaurs. If consumed by such they must make a constitution saving throw DC 16 for cats, dogs and livestock or DC 18 for horses. On a success the creature is poisoned for 1d4 hours. On a failure they gain 1d4 levels of exhaustion every hour for 1d4 hours.
Manufacturing process
With recipe, requires a DC 14 medicine/survival check to make. Any arrangement of the four ingredients creates a weaker version that is half as effective (lasts for 1d4 hours/2) but gives the creator an indication that a recipe can be discovered with different quantities of ingredients.
