Divination

Divination is one of the smaller cities of Seris. It holds a large staging effort where Diviners help explorers to locate items and ruins, and the city holds the largest collection of historical relics and knowledge. Most of this knowledge is held in the university town in the Vault. The Diviners tower is in the center of the city and is a fixture of the city. The town guard is a small but efficient group with superior information due to arcane surveillance in the more populated areas. The city also has a large number of fortune tellers, as well as a temple of the 16.
The people of Divination are polite but unnaturally insightful because of the magic that suffuses the city. They are naturally good judges of character and often have prophetic dreams and or visions. Despite this they are very friendly with most people since they have a good understanding of their intentions.
The city of Divination has the blocky architecture of an arib town with a multitude of colored cloths and ribbons adorning most of the sandstone buildings. The Diviners tower is adorned with these such that it forms a rainbow of colors around the white tower. At the top of the tower is a large crystyline ball that perpetualtly floats above the platform that is the top of the tower.
Divination gets a large amount of their food from the fish in the lake that it is near. It filters almost all its fresh water from there as well. Much of the other nutrients that are needed come from aquatic plant life such as seaweed and algae. They also make alcohol from these ingredients as well as from the sugar cane that grows on the banks of the lake.
