Peaks of Taranoem

The Peaks of Taranoem is a northern dwarfen state located in the very north of Abkhazia in the former region of Hochland. While the state on map claims the whole northern region, its actual control is limited to underground dwarfen settlements and the single overground city of Taranoem in the remote icy north, which can only be accessed by underground paths. The area overground is a de-facto unclaimed wildland, where unknown terrifying creatures roam around, that gets less and less explored the further north one goes. No one knows what lies north of the cartographed area but so far all explorers who dared to roam further, never returned.
The Peaks of Taranoem are currently at war with the Empire of Zeprikan which aims to conquer the comparably mild, and shippable Merata Peninsula in the west of the country. This flared up old racial conflicts between dwarfs and orcs, leading to a general dislike and distrust of the Empire of Zeprikan by all dwarfen states.
