Goblin

Goblins are a curious people, who hail from the Faewild. Exactly where in the Faewild nobody seems to know. They seem to have departed the Fae lands around the same time as the Fir Bolg, likely fleeing the wars between the Arc Sidhe (or Archfey) and the Fomoria.   Very little is known about goblins as a whole, as they tend to vary widely.   Some consitancies seem to be that they are lovers of the sciences, namely alchemy and horticulture. They delight in shaping the world with the right action at the right moment, rather than threw words or song, as is done in the land of the Fae. As such they tend to excell at their chosen science. Some Goblin cultures will go so far as to bind their souls to a seed, and cultivate a single plant all their lives - and for goblins, a life can be very long indeed. Others delight in the creation of new things - tinkering, making devices or solutions through alchemy. Some great artificers have come from the goblin peoples - so much so that they are often recruited (or conscripted) for their alchemical talents. Goblins of this kind are less favored by the other peoples of Aard, as they often cause chaos with their experimentations.   In appearance the goblins tend to be somewhat reptilian, with scaled skin that they shed like lizards. They are warm blooded, though, and often possess almost bat-like ears and noses. Their eyes are large and very well adapted to seeing minute details even in low light.   Their feet allow them excellent purchase when climbing vertical surfaces, and they can walk almost completely silently when they wish. They also have dewlaps which they seem to use as threat displays.   Goblins follow strange naming conventions and have no particular concept of gender. It seems any gender presentation, like names, are customs adopted by observing other peoples, and are often only ruidementarily immitated by the goblins themselves.   Unlike other fey, goblins have no "true names," but create bonds by known each others "true nature." If a goblin claims to "know your nature" and still chooses your company, you're as good as adopted.
