Dragonborn
The Dragonborn are a type of people created by Bahamut at the beginning of the Dawn Age, and are in essence humanoid dragonkin. As children of Bahamut, they only exhibit the coloration and breath weapon abilities of the Metallic dragons. They are most often born without tails but not always, and on very rare occasion, a child may be born with wings.
The dragonborn are, naturally, mostly populated within the regions of Mont'Orr, where they are, as the descendants of the founding population of Mont'Orr, almost entirely of the upper classes.
They tend to have temperaments not dissimilar from the metallic dragons of their same coloration, on average.
Naming Traditions
Unisex names
personal names are largely unisex and compose of two syallables always. So a brother-sister pair may be Erdanesh and Erdandral.
Family names
Names of dragonborn are tri-syllabic, with the first syllable being the family name, followed by a two syllable personal name. Often siblings have the first of this syllables in common as well. The names are matrilineal, with a husband taking on the suffix "An-" before his wifes name, though keeping his own family name at the beginning of his name. For example Erdindral married Kahlovshir, who became "Kahlovshir-An'Erd." When they become a widower, they take the further syllable "tot" as a final suffix. So he would become Kahlovshir-An'Erd'tot.
When a marriage is not binary, typically the partners symply choose which family name to use and both use it as a first syllable, or they preserve their own names as they are, though they take the "tot" suffix upon their partners death.

Funerary and Memorial customs
Dragonborn of Mont'Orr are often cremated in blinding white fires when they die. This is partly due to the belief that otherwise they may be reborn as Abbashai - the dark counterpart to dragonborn, which were created by Tiamat. The ashes are then spread into the winds, though the ashes of criminals are compressed into bricks, to lay the foundations for buildings; a tradition that began with the construction of the Wall surrounding Mont'Orr, when the city was running low on materials to construct its legendary defensive bulwark.
Common Taboos
To adorn one's scales in the colors of the chromatic dragons is strickly taboo, as is the use of breath weapons indoors.
Common Myths and Legends
There are tales of one dragonborn, Ur’ro’al Sunscale who eventually was turned into a true dragon somehow, and was subsequently slain by his own allies. The stories vary, but normally to become a true dragon is a blessing only bestowed by Bahamut herself, and even then only in myth. It is believed that when members of the Bhal family die they are reborn as true dragons.

Ideals
Beauty Ideals
The shinier one's scales, the better. Tales are considered quite beautiful because of how rare they are, and WINGS even more so! However, other than the teal tinge some dragonborn aquire with age, any chromatic coloration to one's scales is considered fiendish, corrupt, and grotesque. This has been weaponized in culture, with several nobles humiliated by having chromatic colored paint splattered onto their scales.
Gender Ideals
Females are prized more highly than other genders because they carry on the family name, and it is not uncommon for the oldest female to be named the heir even if she is the youngest child. This is because the nations first Sorcerer Queen, Bhasommir had only daughters, and her eldest, Queen Bhadragahn had only daughters, as have every queen in the unbroken line of succession ever since, and within those two generations the inheritence of women's names and wealth became codified into the culture.
Courtship Ideals
Courtship amongts the dragonborn tends to be grand, with many austentatious gifts, grand declarations and deeds done in the name of one's love. When a woman is courted, it is up to her courtier to earn her favor; when two women court each other, they must both prove themselves worthy of the other. Dragonborn are capable of producing offspring with any gender pairing of parents, and so the pairing of two women is considered an ideal marriage.
