The Highwall

Stretching from coast to coast, Highwall is a towering, unyielding mountain range that stands as the last great barrier between the civilized lands of the south and the brutal expanse of the north. Its peaks rise jagged and sheer, their snow-capped summits lost in the clouds, while deep, shadowed valleys weave through its vast expanse. Treacherous cliffs, icy passes, and sheer rock faces make travel through Highwall perilous, ensuring that only the most determined—or desperate—seek to cross it.   Yet, not all is desolation. Hidden within its crags are deep caverns, warm springs, and lush alpine meadows, providing refuge for those who call these heights home. Dwarven strongholds, long lost to time, are said to be buried beneath the peaks, their halls echoing with memories of ages past. But danger is never far—roving warbands, monstrous beasts, and things older than men lurk in the shadows, waiting for the unwary.   To those who live below, Highwall is a guardian, shielding the southern forests and fertile lands from the bitter winds and relentless foes that lie beyond. But to those who dwell upon its slopes, it is a world of its own—harsh, untamed, and utterly unforgiving.
