The Highholt

Stretching along the western edge of Faydwer, nestled between the Butcherblock Mountains and the vast expanse of the Ocean of Tears, The Highholt is a land of verdant beauty and quiet resilience. Towering ancient trees form a thick canopy overhead, their emerald leaves shimmering in the sunlight, while the forest floor is rich and untamed, bursting with wildflowers, hidden glades, and cool, bubbling streams. Unlike much of the world beyond, this place remains healthy, thriving, and untouched by ruin.   Though sparsely populated, The Highholt is home to scattered villages of human refugees, those who have sought shelter from the conflicts of the world. These people, though few in number, are fiercely protective of their woodland sanctuary, forming tight-knit communities that stand together in times of need. Their protector is Hobo, a powerful and enigmatic halfling druid whose presence alone is enough to keep the balance of the wilds in check. Under his watch, peace reigns, and the land remains untouched by the corruption that plagues so much of the world.   Yet, peace is never absolute. From time to time, threats creep down from the Butcherblocks—raiders, beasts, or worse. When danger comes, the villages do not stand alone. They rally together, forming bands of hunters and warriors, defending The Highholt as one. Though it is a place of refuge, it is not a land of weakness. Those who would seek to harm it soon learn the strength of those who call it home.
