Animal Feed
Meat Products
About 53% of our animals receive some amount of meat in their carefully planned out diets. This ranges from exclusively meat diets for hypercarnivores, to just a chicken wing every week for the omnivores.
Chinin Legs
Our larger animals get chinin legs, which can weigh up to ten kilograms each. These hefty herbivores originate from planet Cilvarth, where they are captive-bred. We get frequent shipments of whole chinins, which we chop up on site and send to each of our Sectors.
Chicken/Turkey Wings
Fed to our smaller animals, chicken and turkey wings can be harvested en masse. We import our chicken and turkey from planet Vivisi; these animals are identical to Earth chickens and turkeys, only with three times as many wings and therefore more food.
Moomoo Tails
We don't often disclose where these snacks come from, as moomoos are popular pets on planet Cilvarth. These animals have two tails and they taste great fried, so we give our carnivores moomoo tails as snacks. The rest of the bodies get used to; we do not approve of waste.
Leftovers
Pretty grim to see, what makes up about half of our meat products are leftovers. These are the parts of animal corpses that people don't use, and we get paid by several large corporations around the Yonderverse to take these scraps. It saves them time and gives us food, so it's a win-win.

59% of the animal species in the A To Zoo consume some amount of plants in their diet. Plants are much easier to purchase for us, which helps since we have a lot of animals to buy food for.
Cacti
A weird number of animals in the Zoo digest plants in their natural environments. These hardy plants don't always contain sharp spines, but those that do serve as enrichment for some species that like to pluck them off. Others, like many camel species, eat cacti whole, spines and all.
Fruit
Fruits are a very diverse group of plants, many of our species exclusively feeding on them. We buy a wide, wide range of fruits from countless planets, buying from smaller, family-run companies to support people other than large corporations. Here at the A to Zoo, we believe in supporting local businesses.
But what about the carnivorous plants? Wait, are there any plants in the A to Zoo? And I'm sure something eats mushrooms, we need to know where the mushrooms come from. are they grown in the A to Zoo compost heap/waste processing facility?
There are some carnivorous plants in the A to Zoo, but they're not necessarily considered enclosures; they have carnivorous plant gardens you can walk about, where you can learn about lots of different species! I have mushrooms on my list to write about too! :D
