Izara Volswarm

The First Illithid Singer

Izara Volswarm emerged as a pivotal figure in the tumultuous history of the Thri-kreen society, known for her unwavering advocacy and revolutionary spirit. Born into a society characterized by strict isolationism and rigid social structures, the Thri-kreen lived separate lives with distinct ways of life and communication that rarely intersected. However, Izara possessed a rare and remarkable talent: a beautiful singing voice. Voices and vocal communication were still relatively new mutations among the Thri-kreen at the time, and the beauty of her voice stood out among them.   She started her career as a carnival attraction. But her remarkable voice quickly drew the attention of ever more affluent patrons. Izara's outlook shifted when she decided to use her platform to shed light on the plight of her people. Singing their stories and traditions, she sought to bridge the gap between the Thri-kreen and the broader society. This bold move incurred the wrath of the isolationist Elder of her Swarm, leading to her exile from her Swarm—a verdict that historically spelled doom for many. However, Izara's exile proved to be a turning point as she garnered the attention of powerful allies within high society.   Throughout her life, Izara remained a steadfast advocate for the Thri-kreen, tirelessly working to dismantle the rigid structures of the hives and open up their society to the outside world. Her efforts paved the way for a growing movement within the Thri-kreen society, ultimately leading to a revolution that transformed their society and enabled many to escape the confines of the hives. Izara Volswarm's legacy is a testament to the power of compassion, courage, and perseverance in the face of adversity.
