Ironclad

These are a special subtype of ships comparable in size to Galleons. They are characterized by their complete metal outer hull and their use of alternative drives as opposed to the more traditional Solar Sails.

These ships are relatively new, having first be developed by the Clockwork Gnomes during the The Great Pirate War not 15 years ago. Hence most Ironclads are used strictly for military purposes, yet some have been repurposed for research.
