Ailana Genkidama

The Last Queen of the Aquoran

The Aquoran people, a nomadic tribe inhabiting the water-covered moon of Estan. The Aquoran society operated as a loose confederation of tribes, with a tradition of electing a king in times of crisis to unite the tribes and address collective challenges. Ailana's story is deeply intertwined with the struggle of her people against the encroachment of the Jhil'Mir Mining Cooperation.   The Aquorans, living nomadically along the ocean currents, had no concept of private property. The coorp setting up drilling rigs on the ocean's surface initially posed no problem, and the Aquorans even welcomed the chance for cultural exchange. Yet as the coorp widened their influence and closed of vital migration parts the relationships quickly soured and turned hostile. To protect their operation and with the help from the Coorp Navy, the Jhil'Mir Mining Cooperation strong-armed the newly elected King of the Aquorans into signing a treaty that would ratify the restriction of movement of the Aquaroan movement. This sparked outrage and open rebellion from the people. Following standard Coorp protocol this uprising was violently suppressed. In those struggles, the King of the Aquorans died.   After the murder of her husband, Ailana Genkidama assumed the unprecedented role of Queen and led her people with unwavering resolve. At this point, the coorp decided to exile the remaining people of Estan off-world into a reservation. Despite being forcibly exiled from their ancestral home, Ailana tirelessly worked to preserve the culture and history of her people. She authored numerous poems, hymns, and stories, ensuring that the rich heritage of the Aquorans would be remembered and celebrated. Even in her final days, Ailana continued to advocate for her people, addressing the Clockwork Federation and advocating for the Indigenous Protection Act in a passionate speech that would gather attention from all over the The Triumvirate. She would die soon after and never see her ancestral home again.     Her kingdom may have ceased to exist; most of the Aquorans have assimilated into broader society and the culture is considered dead. But thanks to Ailana Genkidama's tireless work, the Aquorans will never be forgotten.
