The United Nations

The United Nations stands today as a struggling international organization whose mandate for world peace is constantly at odds with the hooks dug deeply into its spines by the multinationals. It remains a public fixture across the world, with its corporate sponsored support initiatives to be found throughout most states, even those who reject corporate presence. Though it may seem a compromised institution it does remain useful as a highly publicized open forum, serving as host to not just leaders of nations and corporations but also to the awakened beings who find no comfort in the Corporate Council .
"Right, the UN - it's a shadow of itself even if what it casts is a lot longer. Not a place to appeal for justice, or even to find the kind of rare honest man you may find in a local government."
— TheLoneDeranger
"Maybe that was the case but what I'm hearing is that some of the bigger NGOs, the real do-gooders, are finding some support from people in the organization, people that really want to help. Could be a new day for an old hope."
— SomeonesMom

Noteworthy Divisions

UNIAEA - The International Atomic Agency which falls under the umbrella of the UN. It is vast and well ensconced in moth major nations as well as maintaining elite forces to gather information on attempts at securing or transporting nuclear technology. Well financed by the Corporate Council and well regarded by the public.

UNPROFFOR - The UN Protective Forces used to secure international toxic zones or regions of crisis that are unable to be secured safely by either a nationstate or a corporation. Their deployment is often financed by corporations as a compromise on who will have authority over the contested area.

UNESCO - Due to a sizeable bequest by the Great Dragon Dunkelzahn UNESCO remains independent of the greater UN structure and is generally regarded as a less compromised part of the international body. UNESCO uses its fortune and political weight to safeguard historic or culturally significant sites around the world, and has had to resort to less than legal means to maintain the sanctity of certain locations.
