Raven
Raven Anastasia Swellowfall
"My mother always told me that by forgetting the past, we can focus on the future. Bollocks! Do you have any idea the history we've left behind?"Raven Swellowfall is a native-born Stolian who is the current owner of The Gull’s Wing, taking over after her father passed away. Though old, her eyes are not at all tired, and she’s retained the curious and charismatic spirit of her youth. In the wake of the Great Games and the Echoes, Raven holds that same spirit, and the demands of the gods might drive her family out into the public again.- A letter addressed to her brother.
Physical Description
Special abilities
Raven’s divinity is called Anamnesis, and it involves being able to recall and speak with her past lives for advice. Though she has had this ever since her youth, it did not come until some time afterwards that she was capable of doing this. Because of this divinity, Raven sports knowledge far exceeding her own lifespan, though it comes in glimpses. She typically relies on Salvador in order to piece history together, though she’s gotten better at figuring out what came before her time.
Apparel & Accessories
When attending church or manning the counter at The Gull’s Wing, Raven wears a ring bearing the emblem of her family: three interlocking gears. Other than this ring, Raven has no distinguishing apparel.

Then and Now
Raven Swellowfall was born in 5071 A.A. as Raven Thornsberry. When Prostesa’s industrial revolution came along, the Thornsberry family had jumped from poverty to the middle-class, having invented the alarm clock and, patented by the family, the radio. Raven grew up with one of the first radios and has since cherished it as a gift from her late father. Wanting to carry on his legacy, Raven decided to take up engineering in her own right, later branching out to architecture after learning of Garvinel and becoming fascinated with it.
Alongside her father, Arthur Thornsberry, The Gull’s Wing was built, giving Stolians a place to shelter themselves from the rain and giving visitors a place to remember Stoldrain by. Raven found herself tied down by the responsibilities she had in Stoldrain despite the rest of the world seeming to call out to her. It wasn’t until Arthur passed away from natural causes that she opted to stay in Stoldrain for good.

In 5255 A.A., Raven met a man by the name of Salvador Thoridan, a Garvinan that was as interested in Aohiri’s history as she was. Salvador’s clumsiness endeared him to her almost immediately, and the two had formed a partnership of sorts. So long as Salvador had a place to stay in Stoldrain and was treated well at The Gull’s Wing, Raven would be privy to knowledge she couldn’t find anywhere else. Eager to dig her hands into untold lore, she happily agreed and asked the help of her family to build a home for Salvador. Ever since, the two have been good friends and often share warm-hearted conversations with each other.
Around that same time, Raven had finally realized her divinity. Though it came to her in what she often described as “hallucinations,” these were crucial moments from her past lives. Reincarnation was a natural occurrence on Aohiri, yet Raven had never heard of anyone speaking to their past selves in such a clear and vivid manner. Fearing mockery, she kept this secret from her family, but she would nonetheless get strange looks when she “just so happened” to be correct about something nobody else was aware of.

Education
In youth, Raven learned under both the Ironwise of Garvinel (thanks to her mother) and the teachings of her father, Arthur Thornsberry. Due to her father’s competitive nature, Raven had heard too many times the insulting comments and mockeries of Ironwise smithing. Eventually, Raven had become fed up with Arthur and demanded to visit Garvinel in order to speak with the Thoridan family. One of the founder’s descendants invited her to observe the architecture used in noble housing, and Raven found herself impressed at the detail and care put into the woodwork and stonework. Her only criticism was the state of commonfolk housing, as there was an obvious lack of care that the government had for them.
Accomplishments & Achievements
Aside from completing the Gull’s Wing with the help of her father, there was one invention that Raven had created by herself: the first camera. After the Thornsberry family split and went to live in Ustenstead and Bergeron, Bergans could make use of this invention, much to Raven’s excitement. Along with her father’s radio, her camera is another prized possession, and she intends to give it to her firstborn child should she ever have one.
