Daniel looks like many of the rat armons you'd find in the sewers of Port Brigges. Though covered with a thin layer of dirt, he's abnormally agile and uses this gift to its full extent. He rarely falls ill.

Identifying Characteristics

Between his shoulderblades, underneath his fur, is a brand, though Daniel is often reluctant to show it. The brand itself is supposedly as old as he is, yet the symbol depicted is shown nowhere in history. Its size is inconsistent, growing larger as Daniel grows older.

Special abilities

Daniel's divinity is unknown, even to himself. Typically, one's divinity is named just before adolescence, but Daniel has not discovered his yet. Likely the reason he's never discovered it is because he's never found a situation in which he'd need a divinity.

Personal history

From birth, Daniel knew he was destined for greatness. His expertise in bargaining was due only to how well he could sweet-talk venders into giving him what he needed. In Ustenstead, Daniel was at the top of the line in the slums, and his knowledge of the city’s layout meant he could steal and disappear a moment later. At some point, he grew bored of Ustenstead and began branching out to the rest of Prostesa, visiting the furthest reaches of countries for the privilege of swiping the rarest of gems. What he coveted above all was rhupite, a mineral he claimed to be the “King of Magic Gems.” To this day, he continues his hunt.

At least, that’s what he’d have you believe. Ustenstead was no stranger to poverty; the crown always had a sizable portion of their community at the bottom of the social ladder. The day Emilia Eastoft took the crown was the day Ustenstead had reached its dark days. The Cordero family went from being below-average-but-still-living to scraping the bottoms of barrels that had emptied a long time ago. Daniel's mother had been widowed at the time of his birth, leaving Daniel to help support the rest of his family alongside his mother.
Still, the Cordero family was surviving, however desperate they were. Then, one morning, Daniel's mother came down with an unknown illness that left her bedridden. As clerics had been outlawed at the time, there was nobody who could easily treat the illness aside from those that fled to the slums—too expensive, too much for Daniel. Without any other answer, the Armon took to stealing for a cure, and he realized he had a unique talent in this regard. His ability to mimic the speech patterns of those around him was second to none in his family, and he was undeniably the fastest. Unfortunately for Daniel, he made the mistake no Ustan should make: never leave the house at night. There was a hand that grasped his shoulder, a piercing sensation that engulfed his neck, and… morning. He remembered waking up and nothing more.
For the next week, he laid in bed much like his mother, coughing until he felt his body would wring its organs out. His suffering brought someone important back into his life: his older brother, Manuel Cordero. Daniel greeted him with nothing but hatred. Whether brought on by jealousy or Manuel's abandonment, Daniel wasn't sure what caused it. Still, it was Manuel who gave him a second chance at life. The lion's only keepsake, something Manuel has had since he was born, was a locket imbued with a magic gem. He passed it on to Daniel. Within days, the Armon's sickness disappeared, and Daniel was shocked to find his mother had healed as well. Without much of a fuss, she gave him fifty gold coins and told him to leave as soon as possible. She wouldn't accept him staying when times were so terrible for Ustenstead. At the age of 15, Daniel left behind the last thing he cared about, and Ustenstead hasn't seen him since.

Subject C-4125 was brought into Sector 4C at 21:34. The level of consciousness is unknown; C-4125 showed unclear signs of awareness. C-4125 has commented on the abductor’s appearance and seemed surprised it was picked for experimentation.
Before C-4125’s abduction, the subject appeared to be an armon of the Rattus rattus (black rat) species, though as C-4125 was transported to Sector 4C, we noticed the distinct lack of a tail. After an extensive examination, we are unable to determine why its tail disappeared. C-4125 has been marked as a P-Unit for the time being, and it will be the 4,125th subject to participate in the Divinity Rebirth Project. The First Mother will be pleased.
ATTENTION: We have made a breakthrough in the Divinity Rebirth Project. C-4125 appears to alternate between different appearances depending on the time of year. We have concluded that, despite its rat appearance being the most common, its true appearance something else entirely. There are traits in each form that carry to the next, and we have concluded C-4125 is some cross between a tanarukk and a tiefling. With that knowledge in mind, C-4125 cannot possibly belong to the Cordero family by blood. We have run tests on several members of the Cordero family, and his blood has no matches.
EMERGENCY: Subject C-4125 has left Ustenstead, escaping our watchful eye. As it currently lies outside of our territory, sending one of our members after it would yield no results. For the time being, we will have to turn our efforts to its adoptive family. One sibling in particular has drawn our interest, though it is as elusive as it is fascinating. The others could be fodder to further our research of C-4125's divinity.
