Wychazel Highlands

The Highlands consists of two territories, namely Beltane, Hazelwych and Sinderfall.

Q1. What are your non-earth-like geographical features in your setting?

  • It is the first sighting of 'Stormglass', a type of Rutilated Quartz that does not resonate with the rest of Flint magicians as well. Almost everything is made of stormglass in the Northern parts of the Highland, in the low-land parts it still fits more with classic use of Chemosynthesis/Lithomancy.
  • Sinderfall is highly flammable but a lot of manufacturing is done there, Northern parts are unkempt and little is there. There is a wall between the two of them but it isn't used as a wall anymore so much as a border that is often hard to deal with
  • Hazelwych is the Wasp Fly Parasite Territory

Q2. What’s the general “lay of the land” of your active worldbuilding area?

Beltane is home to some low-lying mountains, valleys, and plateaus of moorland and grassland. There are a few forests, of which almost nothing is mapped out. They are far more superstitious here, and they don't grow plants. They will trade with the Wyvern and Myacoris people

  • Marshlands, peat bogs
  • Hillforts, Burial Mounds
  • Mines, Charcoal Factories
  • Forests that seem unnavigatable
  • High urbanization with no preservation of wildlife - highly anthromoporhized

Q3. And what is the climate or environment like, in your active worldbuilding area?

The temperature is more stable than in the states below, with hot summers and cold winters to a less extreme, the coasts having a relatively mild climate in comparison. However, Coriniaid and Double Walkers seem to grow much stronger up here. However, a lot is generated from all the greenhouses in Hazelwych, which are in use by the Vespula people who can't stand the winter cold.

Next, What is the ecosystem & habitat like in your active worldbuilding area?

  • Odonata and Gannwyll: eat rocks dipped in saltwater, that and fish so long as its canned and salted. They won't go near anything that looks like it can move like a plant.
  • The only plants they eat are from the Gall Orchards.
  • They have a lot of forested area, cultivated land, and highlands

Finally, what natural resources are found in your active worldbuilding area?

  • Rare Metals
  • Rare Pigments
  • Spices
  • Unique Plants/Creatures

Localized Phenomena

There is something in the air, particularly in the forests, that can cause Gannwyll Gwydd (and others descended genetically from Nachkommen) to transform into giant insects. It is caused by an oxygen leak of some sort, but no one is sure from where.
