Noble Profession L4

Noble Profession L4 (4th Class) is the First rank of Noble Professions. It includes six paths:

• Mercatrix 1:L4 Discipula
• Professional apprentice to an art or craft
• Smithing, glasswork, pigment/dye
• Mercatrix 1:L4 Sapiens
• Elemental science and transmutation
• Basic magic and occult theory
• Gladia 1:L4 Equites
• Combat/Infantry Training, Emergency Medical Tech
• Gladi 2:L4 Lejionaria
• Survival Wilderness skills
• Animals of Matter field studies
• Ecobiology, Terrain and Geography
• Acolyta 1:L4 Nutrix
• Manipulation of blood
• General healing and haematology
• Acolyta 2:L4 Residens
• Basic pathology and diagnostics
• Basic medical technology (humours, signatures)

What are the qualifications for a rank or title?

• You can start training for L4 in your third year of L5 work
• Membership to a Guild or Union of Lithomancy under the Five Noble Elements as an L5
• Having completed Training for Renewal (3-6 months) with a Mentor of L3 or higher
• Four years of study or field work as an L5
• Medical Clearance from L2 Medic
• All in all, after approximately 4-4.5 years of work as an L5 you can apply
• Letter of Recommendation is needed from your Training Mentor

What are the requirements and responsibilities?

• Be in Good Standing with a Guild or Union of Lithomancy
• Note that "Good Standing" means having not been chemically sterilized by a guild for leaving.
• Few survive re-fertilization, but those who do can appeal and their rank will be reinstated
• Your right to judicial protection is revoked if you are not employed with a Noble Business at the time of committing a crime
• Have a 4-year Degree of Learned Arts in a related field to your specialty

How is the rank granted?

• It is granted through a renewal ceremony
• A member of the Immutable Council of Noble Professions must approve the ceremony
• An Acolyta of L4 or Higher must be present at the renewal to verify it was a success

What are the benefits of the rank?

• Access to more advanced magic and metaphysical knowledge
• Better employment opportunities, including both social standing and financial compensation
• Higher status in a Union or Guild, which come with many supports and benefits
