Noble Profession L3

Noble Profession L3 (3rd Class) is the First rank of Noble Professions. It includes six paths:

• Mercatrix 1:L3 Artificiosa
• Experienced/Advanced knowledge of an art or craft
• Can teach lower ranks base fundamentals
• First rank that can own and operate their own Noble Business
• Mercatrix 2:L3 Maga
• Minor Bridegroom of the Element's God
• Work within the B-V-D triad of Special Professions (Bard, Vate, Druid)
• Gladia 1:L3 Equites Runarum
• Involved in logistics of regional armies
• Scouting, strategy, lejion organization
• High level law enforcement/protection
• Disaster management
• Gladia 2:L3 Crusatrix
• Hunting and trapping
• Working Animal husbandry
• Chemical alchemy/spagyrics
• Acolyta 1:L3 Pharmacologa
• Concerned with the metaphysical aspects of the humours
• Licensed to Handle Blood
• Able to Authorize Surgery of the Blood
• Acolyta 2:L3 Medica
• Professionally Licensed to Operate a Medical Office
• Advanced knowledge of sapient medicine

What are the qualifications for a rank or title?

• You can start training for L3 in your second year of L4 work
• Therefore the average age you begin training for L3 is 24-25, and you can attain L3 by average 28
• Membership to a Guild or Union of Lithomancy under the Five Noble Elements as an L4
• Having completed Training for Renewal (6 months) with a Mentor of L2 or higher
• Employed at a Noble Business (or Employed by a Recognized Faction, or Active Mercenary License)
• Medical Clearance from L3 Medica and Pharmacologa
• All in all, after approximately 3-4 years of work as an L4 you can apply
• Letter of Recommendation is needed from your Training Mentor

What are the requirements and responsibilities?

• Be in Good Standing with a Guild or Union of Lithomancy
• Note that "Good Standing" means having not been chemically sterilized by a guild for leaving.
• Few survive re-fertilization, but those who do can appeal and their rank will be reinstated
• Your right to judicial protection is revoked if you are not employed with a Noble Business (or other exceptions) at the time of committing a crime
• Have a 2-year Masters of Learned Arts in a related field to your specialty

How is the rank granted?

• It is granted through a renewal ceremony
• A member of the Immutable Council of Noble Professions must approve the ceremony
• An Acolyta or Maga of L3 or Higher must be present at the renewal to verify it was a success

What are the benefits of the rank?

• Access to more advanced magic and metaphysical knowledge
• Better employment opportunities, including both social standing and financial compensation
• Higher status in a Union or Guild, which come with many supports and benefits
• This is typically the rank where you can work independantly or open your own business, equivalent to getting a medical license or passing the bar exam
