Furybreaths of Sealtland
(Coriniaid) - Blaiz's smithy alliance
Furybreaths of Sealtland is an alliance of Mercatrice, particularly those who engage in casting, smithing, or otherwise forming tools and weapons. It is essentially an alliance for crafting Guildspeople which operates based on the movements of the Atraxida.
A brief description:
- Alliance of the Mercatrix Job Class, must be Initiated and be a business owner
- Business should be in crafting or smithing tools
- Locations are based on the movements of the Atraxida (and to an extent auxillaries) people
- The largest alliance of merchants in the South
Their public agenda (purpose, mission, aims)
- Providing support across Sealtland, and to an extent, parts of Eskern and Pestilentia, for merchants and smiths who work with metal
- Nachkommen friendly
- Apolitical (no guilds are banned from admission)
- Democratic and senority-based (hence, the Atraxida and Coriniaid are often high up)
- Lots of vetting to be admitted, group it tight knit
Describe their visuals (flag, motto, uniform)
- Their iconography/visuals are all silhouettes, both as homage to the swarthy-dressed Atraxida and the charcoal-coloured Coriniaid
- They basically only wear black, with hints of volcanic or oil spill accessories if they are able to afford it
- Every member has a carved mask made from extremely rare material once they are accepted
Their secret agenda (if they have one)
- They are seniority based, with long living members, and their willingness to accept Urkommen with moderate lifespans is mostly for show. The internal waiting lists are miles long, and your business has to have survived at least one armed conflict to qualify for admission.
- There have been cases of prospective members allying with Nachkommen or Deathless people in order to have their inventions or businesses considered, and whether the original applicant remains when they are accepted is of little consequence. So some of the members have outright stolen the businesses they run,
Culture
As a merchant alliance, they are primarily concerned with economic trends, resource availability, and communication between members. They stick to places where they can transport their items underground if needed, as they evolved from an era where the emerging Coriniaid were raiding and looting settlements en masse. The guild was a way to hopefully try and keep stolen goods in circulation. The most prominent cultures in this alliance are the Atraxida and Sulyafuj due to their underground tunnel systems.
Assets
Members must donate a certain amount of their resources to the guild, the percentage of which changes once a year, depending on the economic and social forecasts. In times of crisis, the members use this storage to sustain their businesses but also keep communities going. Thus although outsiders may see them as questionable for selling stolen goods, the communities around Sealtland see them as overall altruistic.
History
Their leader and founder is an Atraxida merchant who, while not a craftsman himself, was a wealthy patron of many independant businesses scattered throughout the South. He founded the alliance with some members of neighbouring lands, allowing them to use the Atraxida tunnels to transport goods safely in exchange for paying dues.
