Elements of Brine

 Brine comprises alkali metals and bases, with the most prominent containing sodium and fluorite. They can sometimes influence the weather, and the only magicians who are adept at destroying Alrauna, though Alrauna can easily counter-poison them.

• Global, as it is an island Brine is commonly found near the coast
• It is also found in underground deposits such as caves

How does it look or manifest?

• Brine is everywhere but also nowhere, due to most alkali metals being volatile
• Most appear as a soft, silvery white metal:
• Sodium
• Lithium
• Cesium
• Others form as crystaline or rocky deposits in sea water
• Although it is not the only element which features water, it is most often associated with water due to its name

How does it affect plants and animals of your world?

• Generally due to it occurring alongside more stable minerals, effects must be deliberate
• The Brine, particularly sodium and the radioactive materials, can cause the death of organic matter

What problems or benefits does it create for people?

• Any misuse can cause a biohazardous or inhospitable area where nothing will grow
• Can cause imbalances in the body as well as organ death
