Jakob

Jakob Wolny

Jakob is a diligent and earnest young man who has quickly adapted to managing his family's inn in the village of Guthram after the tragic death of his father. His maturity and strong sense of responsibility have made him a central figure in the household and earned him the respect of those around him. His relationship with his brother Heinrik is marked by protective loyalty. Despite his father’s past favoritism, which Jakob was well aware of, he often sided with Heinrik.   Jakob's interactions with his younger twin sisters, Amalie and Emilia, become more complex following their mysterious abduction and altered return. Though part of him is skeptical about the changes in them and the circumstances of their return, his ingrained sense of duty leads him to support his mother’s decision to keep the girls at home, despite the community's lingering suspicions.   Being the eldest child, Jakob has taken on the responsibility of inheriting the family business, a role he embraces with dedication, learning everything from management to the intricacies of hospitality. However, his life takes an unexpected turn when he is conscripted into The Borderguard. Faced with this new challenge, Jakob approaches his conscription with the same seriousness and commitment he applied to the inn, driven by a strong sense of duty to fulfill his responsibilities, even as he harbors personal reservations about the dramatic changes at home.
