Hag's Tongue Poison

Hag's Tongue is a poison created from the False Mullein plant. While the False Mullein is a relatively common plant, Hag's Tongue is a difficult poison to brew due to the heavily diluted nature of the plants natural toxins. These toxins must be carefully extracted and then highly concentrated, meaning that a single drop of poison could require twenty or more large plants to create.

Description

Hag's Tongue is a translucent yellow-green poison that smells very bitter. It is composed of the heavily concentrated toxins of the False Mullein plant and has a thick, gloopy consistency. The poison must be injested orally to work.

Effects

When administered directly, a single drop is enough to cause asphyxiation through swelling of the airways and tongue. The tongue also turns a grey-black colour and develops wart-like blisters across the surface.
Due to it losing its potency when diluted in fluids, it is not suitable for administration through liquids, but can be dropped onto solid, strong smelling foods and disguised. The results of administration in this manner take slightly longer to appear, but the same swelling and discolouration occurs.

Availability

Pure Hag's Tongue is very difficult to come by as it takes a long time to distill, making it rare and expensive. Pure Hag's Tongue is also considered a controlled substance in many places on the mainland continents.
