The Mountain Cities of Talanor
The majority of Avioriks don't have fully formed wings but there is a variant that do, these variants often become leaders, elite warriors and people of high influence/status. The winged Avioriks (alt name for winged version here) amass followers big enough to found cities A.K.A 'Nests'. The Nests are then named after the 'paired' winged avioriks - This becomes the name of their clan/tribe.
When Paired Avioriks fail to 'Pair' they go seperate ways often become mercinaries, traders etc as they are shunned by wider Avioriks Culture. In rare cases these 'unpaired' winged Avioriks amass a following of vagrant avioriks who oppose the current traditions.
The Cities/Villages are founded on high mountain cliffs inaccessible by foot aside from long bridges, or mechaincal lifts to the valley floor. The perimeter of the cliffs are defended all day and all night by guards with spears. Some of the cities are atop floating chunks of mountain. How they float is still to be determined. The cities are highly defensable and are incredibly hard to locate due to the weather, altitude and lack of walked paths.
