Infernal Cub's Gauntlets

Weapon Archives Entry #4891: Infernal Beast Gauntlets

  Classification: Mythical Weaponry, Gauntlet Type
Origin: Derived from the remains of the Infernal Beasts, the mother and her cub, believed to have roamed the fiery chasms of Mount Pyrrha.

Cub's Gauntlets:

Material: While made from similar materials as the mother's, the cub's hide and bones were still in development, giving the gauntlets a slightly less refined appearance with more pronounced fiery fissures.
Appearance: These gauntlets have a rougher texture and the molten channels appear more chaotic, symbolizing the cub's raw and untamed power. The claws are sharper, yet shorter, and the wrist guard, although made of bone, lacks the depth of engravings seen on the mother's version.

Abilities:

Heat Resistance: Offers protection from heat, similar to the mother's gauntlets but with a more vibrant fiery aura.
Explosive Power: The cub's untamed energy manifests as sudden, unpredictable bursts of power, making these gauntlets more explosive in nature but lacking the enhanced strength of the mother's.
Unstable Flame Projection: Capable of erratic and sudden fiery eruptions, symbolizing the cub's raw and volatile energy.

Limitations:

Weight: The gauntlets, especially the mother's, are significantly hefty due to the dense materials and energies contained within. This requires the user to possess substantial strength to utilize them effectively.
Maintenance: Both sets of gauntlets demand consistent rituals or submersion in sanctified waters. The cub's gauntlets, in particular, require more frequent attention due to their unstable nature, needing rituals to calm and channel the raw energy.
Control: The explosive nature of the cub's gauntlets makes them harder to control, especially for those unacquainted with their unpredictable bursts of power.

Historical Notes:

The Infernal Beast Gauntlets' legends have been passed down through the Ashen Tribes near Mount Pyrrha. Oral traditions tell of a daring huntress who ventured deep into the heart of the mountain, confronting both the mother and cub. Recognizing the unique power each beast held, she forged two distinct sets of gauntlets post her victorious battle. These artefacts have since become symbols of courage and power, shared amongst the tribe's mightiest warriors.

Current Status:

While the mother's gauntlets were last seen adorning the hands of Thrain Firehand, the chieftain of the Ashen Tribes, the cub's gauntlets are believed to have been lost during the Night of the Red Moon, following Thrain's mysterious disappearance.

Access Restrictions:

Both sets are classified as Class-A artefacts. Interaction is strictly monitored and is only permissible with the unanimous consent of the Weapon Archives Council. Potential wielders are further screened for their ability to handle and control the gauntlets' immense power.
