Fairies

The tiny, playful, happy, kind, and magical children of Selûne

Basic Information

Anatomy

Fairies are tiny humanoids. Fairies have wings on their backs usually resembling the wings of insects in a wide range of colors. These magical wings do allow the Fairies to fly. Fairies often have light blue skin and hair ranging from blue and turquoise to purple, pink, and white. A Fairy's eyes glow usually a light color (light blue, white, etc.) and have no visable pupils or irises. Fairies eyes have a faintly brighter disk (or the area around the disk is faintly duller, depending of how you look at it, "ha") is a in the center of their eye and this indicates which direction the Fairy is looking. Fairies are all female and thus have no internal reproductive organs. Fairies have the magical ability to grow in size to that of an average Human. This ability is only possibly in the light of the moon. Due to the punishments put upon Fairies during The gods War, Fairies can be damaged by magical darkness.

Genetics and Reproduction

Fairies are all female and thus have no internal reproductive organs.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Fairies can eat and they do enjoy good food but it is unnecessary for them. Fairies "feed" off of moonlight. As long as a Fairy can bathe in moonlight on a regular basis, they will be energized and healthy.

Additional Information

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Fairies see through their eyes, hear through their ears, smell through their noses, feel through their skin, and communicate through their mouth / throat.

Civilization and Culture

History

Selûne has always had a rivalry with her sister Shar as they both fought for control of the night. This rivalry lead these sisters to encourage conflict between their Divine Factions. As punishment Ao would force the two sisters to be together for night to occur. Darkness could not fall upon Ümbria without the moon and the moon could not rise if the darkness had not fallen. This would also force the children of Selûne, the Fairies, to enter the darkness of night to feed upon their mother's light. Due to the punishments put upon Fairies during The gods War, Fairies can be damaged by magical darkness.
