The Silver Eyes

Summary

It is known that gods and goddesses bow to the will of the primordial pair, and tremble at their wrath. But it was once said that the primordials quake on fear of something. It can be rarely heard as hushed whispers of a drunkard, the babblings of a mad man, or the ramblings of the senile... the existence of beings with silver eyes, the avatars or the true rulers of the realm.

Historical Basis

There are a few artistic renditions

Spread

Whispers of the homeless and those considered demented. Mutterings of drunkards flailing about in back alleys, and the ramblings of the elderly and senile.   Anyone close to such people has most assuredly heard it, and almost just as assuredly dismissed the speech as irrelevant. It is the most commonly known and universally dismissed piece of information in the history of the world.

Variations & Mutation

There are a few variations of this myth.   There are multiple silver-eyed people, they are extraordinarily powerful, and those blessed directly by other deities can sense the presence and power of the beings, and they are possibly a little eccentric.   It isn't known who created the variations of this myth because nobody pays attention to the ramblings all that much in the first place.   It was only discovered once people from opposite sides of the world started having offhand (inebriated) conversations about said myths that a few people started to realize that it was fairly widespread.   The only documented information regarding this legend outside of the discarded scribblings of doctors specializing in mental health... is the diary of Eber Frostbane's great-great-grandmother who claims in a dream that there may be a way to summon these mythical beings

Cultural Reception

Met with eyerolls of exasperation, a heavy sigh, or a scoff, bringing up this legend in particular is generally a great way to have your opinions discarded and for people's evaluation of you to noticeably drop.   Amongst guardians, the belief is greater, yet still generally dismissed. Those who do not outright dismiss it... fear it.
