Saint
The title of Saint is now more common than that of Guardian, but they equate to the same thing: one who is blessed directly by a god or goddess. The distinction lies in which god or goddess gave the blessing, with Guardians being blessed by the Primordial god or goddess, and Saints being blessed by their elemental children, and other particularly powerful deities of mortal conception.
Appointment
Some are born into it. For others, they simply ascend. The conditions and reasoning behind this are unknown, as it varies by deity and no one knows what the deities' intentions are (because gods and goddesses are always cryptic). Saints do seem to appear more commonly alongside Guarians.
Duties
The duties of saints varies, but they usually revolve around protecting mortals and aiding in battle against blightspawn.
