Dwarf
Nestled neatly and not so quietly in mountain ranges and hot springs around the world, members of the Dwarven race are never told "I thought you'd be taller".
In fact, many are often surprised by how tall they can be, not that anyone with sense would pick on them about their height.
Known for their hardiness, physical strength, unending curiosity, indomitable will, and generally calm demeanor, Dwarves are welcome in almost every region, save the High Elves who welcome almost no one.
With technology rivaling that of Elven magical proficiency, Dwarves enjoy a life of comfort, when they aren't toiling away at their work.
Just don't make one angry, as if they can't pound you down to their size with their bare hands, it's a safe assumption that they have a weapon or some construct to help them or do it for them.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Dwarves are bi-pedal humanoids, like most motibal trait of which is their height, or lack thereof. It is entirely possible to find a Dwarf who is wider than they are tall, though this is exceptionally rare
Biological Traits
Dwarves of all sorts have a few common traits such as being short and stout individuals. They are generally stronger than most other species and are generally rather sure-footed.
Additonally, due to a majority of their time being spent in or around mountains and/or geologically active regions, their are less succeptible to oxygen deficiencies and can act in low air environments for longer and with less sever aderse effects, though there are still negative effects and such conditions should still be avoided.
Ecology and Habitats
Dwarves usually live in or around mountains, or areas with geological activity, as the aforementioned areas usually contain leylines aligned to earth and fire
Biological Cycle
Dwarves generally become sluggish during the winter season as they are more accustomed to warmer climates and conditions. A Dwarf traveling beyond mountains and hot springs in winter will likely spend the majority of their time sleeping, trying to stay awake, drinking wine or strong spirits to try and feel warm, or complaining about the cold.
Conversely, they are rather energetic in the summer.
Behaviour
Dwarves are generally curious, and make for great inventers and explorers
Additional Information
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Drawrves are highly attuned to the flow of mana within mountains and the earth. They can sense seismic activity well in advance.
Civilization and Culture
Major Organizations
Local organizations include the Miner's Guild and the Inventors Guild. A lesser organization is the "Brotherhood of Magma Fist"
Common Dress Code
Dwarves are a race that takes pride in function. As long as your clothing does not impede you or anyone else, and adequately protects you from the hazards of work and weather, most people won't pay "fashion" much attention.
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
Dwarves are generally easygoing as a whole and get along with most races, even humans, which many other species are rather apprehensive to deal with after certain historical events.
Relations with all elven species are favorable, though cumbersome with High Elves due to their mannerisms.
Dwarves do not have formal relations with any beastkin species as they are relatively far apart and they do not have much that either party is interested in aside from alcohol.
