Description
A set of 6 earthen disks covered in moss and magical symbols, each of which thunders like a celestial drum when struck. While attuned they float in front of you constantly within arms reach, ready to be played. Thought to be the result of an Empyrean linked to both
The Sculptor and
Éda, these stones spent many years contained within the walls of
Úrlos Palace before being stolen by the Lords of Ash and Dust.
Mechanics
Rumbling Earth
You can spend 10 minutes to cast the Earthquake spell as a ritual (DC 18) by beating the drums and playing a mighty song. The range of the spell when cast in this way is 1 mile, and the radius increases to 500ft. All creatures within 1 mile can hear the sound of your drums while you use this ability. Additionally, the spell lasts for as long as you take an action on each of your turns to maintain it.
This property of the artifact cannot be used again until the next dawn.
Army of Stone
As an action you can play the artifact to immediately summon up to four earth elementals within separate spaces up to 60ft away from you. They act immediately after your turn and obey your commands (no action required). The elementals disappear upon falling to 0 HP or after an hour has passed.
This property of the artifact cannot be used again until a week has passed.
Divine Spellcasting
You can use these Drums as a spellcasting focus. While playing the Drums, you can use an action to cast one of the following spells (save DC 18) from it: Earthen Grasp, Erupting Earth, Thunderwave (4th Level), Irresistible Dance. Once you use the Stones to cast a spell, that spell cannot be used again until the next dawn.
Blessing of Trakhóros
If you are a worshipper of Temní or Éda, you gain all the following benefits for which you have the required piety:
- Piety 3: You become proficient in playing the Drums. If you were already proficient in the musical instrument, you gain expertise instead.
- Piety 10: The Stones have 1 randomly determined Minor Beneficial Property
- Piety 25: The Stones have 1 additional randomly determined Minor Beneficial Property
If you worship neither God, the artifact has 1 randomly determined Minor Detrimental Property.
