Diamond Conquest/7th Guardian War

The Diamond Conquest, officially listed as the 7th Guardian War, was a conflict during the Age of Blood. The Conquest started towards the middle of the the Age, and carried through almost to the end. The Conquest was lead by General Diamond, the first recorded Guardian of Crystal and first Queen of the Faerie Empire. The Conquest started in the Crystal River area. It quickly spread as the Diamond Coalition took on more powerful empires. At the end of Queen Diamond I's reign, the Faerie Empire controlled most of the Central Faerie Region.
The Diamond Conquest is seen as a great moment in history. It serves as both the end of the Age of Blood and the beginning of one of the most romanticised periods of Faerie Empire.

The Conflict

Prelude

The age of Blood was set off by the violent fall of the Emberton Empire. Many kingdoms, alliances, and empires battled to fill the power vacuum. One such group was the Diamond Coalition, led by the first known Guardian of Crystal.

Outcome

The Diamond Coalition was victorious, and defeated all other major players in North Central Faerie. Queen Diamond the I is crowned.

Aftermath

The Diamond Conquest effectively ended the Age of Blood, as the period only lasted three more years. General Diamond took the old Emberton Capital for themself, establishing the Faerie Empire and starting the Diamond Dynasty.
The Diamond Conquest inspired the techniques and actions in later Fae Conquests that expanded the Empire.

Historical Significance

The Diamond Conquest had a huge impact in Faeriean history, and was the turning point into the era of larger empires. Events during the Conquest would have lasting effects on demographics, loyalties, civil wars, and even new nations working towards independence in the modern era.

In Literature

There is a great deal of literature surrounding the Diamond Conquest, most written during the Air Dynasty. A lot of it is highly romanticised and inaccurate, though a few more historical accounts exist.
