2 - The Meeting with Corin and the Perilous Path

Date: 6/18/2024

After the harrowing battle at Saltmire, Clovis, Johnny Hotpockets, and Loche were approached by a mysterious figure named Corin Spellweaver. Corin, unknown to them, was actually Narvane Shadowspell, a rogue from the Obsidian Circle who had assumed Corin's identity. He pleaded for their assistance in recovering a stolen artifact, manipulating the party to further his own secretive goals.

Johnny, with his exceptional tracking skills, led the group through the rugged terrain, following the trail left by the bandits. They moved swiftly, the forest closing in around them as they ventured deeper into the unknown. However, their progress was halted by a cunningly set trap—a swinging log designed to crush any who dared to follow. Johnny attempted to disable the trap, but it swung free, injuring him and leaving him momentarily incapacitated.

Despite this setback, Johnny's determination did not waver. The party pressed on, making camp for the night to tend to their wounds and gather their strength. The forest was eerily quiet, the sounds of distant wildlife the only indication of life around them. Morning came, and with it, renewed resolve. Johnny once again picked up the trail, leading them to the edge of the bandit camp.

From their vantage point, the camp sprawled before them—a haphazard collection of tents and makeshift fortifications. Loche transformed into a raven and took to the skies, scouting the camp and noting the location of the artifact. His keen eyes spotted Tharik Blackhand, the bandit leader, and his elite guards patrolling the area.

The stage was set for the next phase of their journey, with danger lurking in every shadow. The artifact was within reach but retrieving it would require all their skill and courage. As they prepared to move in, the weight of their mission bore down on them, knowing that failure was not an option.
