5e Cultivation Journey

In the 5E world of cultivation a person's power is their cultivation which is built upon the strength of their soul. Not everyone has a strong soul and so few people become cultivators. Also, proper cultivation techniques (classes) are hard to obtain (often restricted or withheld from the public by clans and sects, reserved for their inner sect disciples), thus most will at best be able to practice a basic technique (generic NPC classes such as Veteran or Bandit). A person's soul strength determines how far their cultivation journey can go, it set's a soft upper limit to their potential growth as it becomes increasingly difficult and dangerous to grow in levels above your Soul Strength. For many, this limit chafes them greatly and they are always looking for ways to overcome said limitation.   A strong soul can handle 10+ levels, but a truly powerful soul can handle 20+ levels and is popularly known as a "Divine Soul." Divine Souls have the potential of ascending to godhood and are almost unheard of during normal times. However, every few thousand years (it is not exact, but can be "foreseen" through Divination magic when the time draws close) there is a generation born with many Divine Souls ("many" is like, 500 or so in the whole world). There are many theories about what causes this wave, the most common of these is that the gods have descended and are made mortal again. Therefore, this generation is often referred to as the "Generation of Gods." Whatever the case, the current generation is such a time and all our players possess a Divine Soul (if they so choose, they don't have to of course).   The goal of this world as a 5E setting is to make sense of the class / level / HP system. To make a world that makes RP more of a focus, makes downtime activities and non-combat skills more interesting, makes leveling up less about killing everything and makes combat more strategic and challenging.
